Science on Tap

Science on Tap is a series of events presented by Sunset Zoo and hosted at the Manhattan Brewing Company in downtown Manhattan, Kansas.  These events make science fun and accessible to everyone through direct interaction with scientists, hands-on experiences, and interactive games.  Each event has a different focus and provides a different experience.

While food is not served at the Manhattan Brewing Company, they may have a popup food vendor joining us for Science on Tap.  Check out their Facebook page for the latest details.  Regardless, you're always welcome to grab carryout at another local restaurant and bring it with you to enjoy during Science on Tap.

Event Dates

October 19, 2022Join us for a Halloween-themed, science trivia event for Science on Tap this October.  By yourself, or in a team of no more than four (4), you can compete for prizes by answering these chilling questions that won't be for the faint of heart.
November 9, 2022In preparation for all the holiday cooking and baking, November's Science on Tap will explore the science of baking cookies to help you in your kitchen these coming weeks.  There are loads of ways to mess up a baked goods recipe, and Little Batch Company is partnering with us to help explore why your recipe might be going awry.  If learning how to better your own baking skills isn't enough incentive, the Little Batch will have samples for you to try while you're enjoying your brew from the Manhattan Brewing Company.
December 7, 2022Will it or won't it be a white Christmas this year?  Join us for the December's Science on Tap where scientists from the Kansas Mesonet State Climate Office will help us explore this question from a climatology perspective.  They will also share with us how we can participate in climate science through the CoCoRaHS Network.  You won't want to miss this Science on Tap as winter fast approaches.
