Visit the Zoo During the Halloween Season with 
Spooktacular 2020

Due to COVID-19 and health and safety precautions we are redesigning our event to keep you healthy and safe and still allow you to have a Spooktacular time at our Zoo! Candy will not be handed out while you are visiting, but individually wrapped candy, pre-bagged will be given to each guest when exiting the Zoo. 


Admission Rates and Hours 

Hours and event size will be limited for health and safety.

Dates:
Spooktacular will occur October 22 - 27 
Time: 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. each night 

To limit crowd size we are allowing only 240 guests per evening through October 22-27
Spooktacular will occur each evening between 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. You must purchase a ticket for this event. 


Tickets:


Tickets available when event is approved online 
$5.50 for adults/$3.50 for children 3+ up (Regular admission rates apply) 
  • Children 2 and under that are admitted free
  • FOSZ members receive $1 off each child's admission

Costumes encouraged - Masks Mandatory
Candy when you depart

Wear your costumes - adults and kids! Have fun and be creative, just remember you're walking through the Zoo and to still maintain proper social distancing measures and health guidelines. If you need a mask just ask and we can provide one to you at our front gate.
Spooktacular would not be Spooktacular without CANDY. We will not be passing out candy this year, but instead all guests will receive a treat bag of individually wrapped candy when they leave the Zoo. (One bag per guest.) 

Parking

Parking is available in the Zoo's main lot and the grass field to the side of the zoo. Community members can also park in Manhattan High School's lot, located at the corner of Oak and Westwood. It's a busy weekend, so please drive slowly and carefully.

Tickets on sale upon approval and attendees must pre-purchase tickets to the event

We will be limiting SPOOKtacular guests this year to 240 guests per evening. You must purchase your ticket in advance to attent the event.  Tickets can be purchased online through our online CivicRec system. You must have an account to make any purchases. Signing up for an account is fast and easy and you buy tickets through the Manhattan Parks and Recreation website. Don't have an account? You can set one up through this easy registration page.

Tickets can also be pre-purchase at the Sunset Zoo gift shop, or any Parks and Recreation facility before the day of the event. To receive the FOSZ discount, FOSZ members much purchase their tickets in person. 

SPOOKtacular is held rain or shine. No ticket refunds due to weather. 
NOTE: FOSZ members must purchase tickets in person or online through your Civic Rec account to receive $1 off youth ticket.

Drinks and snacks will be available in our gift shop for purchase. All pre-packaged for your safety. 

What is with the camera?
This event will have an event photographer taking photos through the day. These photos are for Sunset Zoo use only and may appear on the Sunset Zoo website, future Party for the Planet materials, social media outlets, or other future Sunset Zoo promotional material. By virtue of your attendance, you agree to usage of your likeness in such media.
